First ODI between Bangladesh Emerging Team, Ireland Wolves called off after Irish bowlers tests COVID-19 positive

Dhaka: The first ODI match between Bangladesh Emerging Team and Ireland Wolves was called off after an Irish cricketer tested Covid-19 positive, media reports saaid.

The cricketer was identified as Ruhan Pretorius.

Asked to bat first, the hosts posted 122 runs losing four wickets in 30 overs when news filtered through of Pretorius’ positive test, reports Dhaka Tribune.

Upon coming to know about the development, match officials called off the first one-dayer, with the second match scheduled to be held at the same venue Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Sunday.
