Manchester, July 10 (IBNS): India crashed out of the Cricket World Cup on Wednesday evening after losing to New Zealand by 18 runs at the Old Trafford here on Wednesday evening.

In a match that got carried over from yesterday to today due to rain, New Zealand had scored 239 losing eight wickets.

Indian fans were happy with the score but the Indian top order fell quickly with K.L. Rahul, Rohit Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli scoring just one run each.

When things seemed hopeless for India, Ravindra Jadeja gave India a fighting change with a brave 77 off 59 balls before being caught by Williamson off Boult.

But the rest of the team could not pull India through.

The Kiwis bowled out India for 221.

In the final of the Cricket World Cup, New Zealand will now face the winner of the second semifinal between England and Australia.
