The Indian cricket team have rested premier pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah for the third and final Test against New Zealand, media reports said.

Bumrah has been rested so that he remains fully fit for the India-Australia series beginning next month, a report by The Indian Express said.

India will fly to Australia on November 10.

In the three-match Test series, New Zealand have already taken an unbeatable 2-0 lead over India.

In this context, Bumrah has been allowed to return to his home in Ahmedabad.

The pace bowling sensation had failed to pick a single wicket in the second Test against New Zealand played in Pune.

India will take on New Zealand in the third and final Test at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai from November 1.
