India surrender, England scripts 3-1 victory
England bowled out India for 94 runs in their second innings.
Murali Vijay (2), Gautam Gambhir (3), Cheteshwar Pujara (11), Virat Kohli (20),Ajinkya Rahane (4), MS Dhoni (0) failed to contribute with their willows.
The lower order, which was contributing well in the first half of the series, did not contribute well with their willows.
R Ashwin (7) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (4) did not shine with their bats at all for the past could of Tests and this innings was no exception.
Stuart Binny remained the top scorer for England with his unbeaten 25.
Chris Jordan (4-18), James Anderson (2-16), Stuart Broad (1-22) and Chris Woakes (1-24)contributed with their bowling in destroying the young Indian battling line-up which had shined in the first two Tests.
Earlier in the day, England were all out for 486 with Joe Root, who was unbeaten at 92 at stumps on Saturday, scored unbeaten 149 runs and helped his side post a huge 338 runs lead after India posted only 148 runs on the scorecard.
Root hit 18 boundaries and a six in his knock.
England had finished Saturday's play at 385 for seven, ahead of India by 237 runs.
Indian cricketers displayed poor performance in England once again despite leading the series 1-0 after winning the second Test in Lord's. England brilliant came back from behind to clinch the series and make sure the young Indian cricketers forget their nightmarish experience in the tour.
Roots was adjudged the Man of the Match while Anderson and Kumar got the Man of the Series award.
