Incheon, Sept 30 (IBNS) Indian boxers had a mixed day at the Asian Games here on Tuesday with iconic boxer MC Mary Kom (51kg) winning the clash and reaching the final while L Sarita Devi (60kg) was defeated in a controversial match against local boxer Jina Park as she settled for a bronze.

Mary punched her way to the final by beating  Vietnam’s Le Thi Bang 3-0.

Controversy clouded another match where Devi lost to Park 3-0 despite  clearly being the better boxer.

Despite hit by Sarita's punches on her chins, the referee Algerian referee Hammadi Yakoub Kheira did not give a single standing count.

All three ringside judges ruled in favour of the local boxer.

Sarita told media: "I am feeling very sad."

Indian woman boxer Pooja Rani (75kg) also clinched bronze after losing to  China's Li Qian in a semi-final clash.

Discus thrower Vikas Gowda clinched silver with a  best throw of 62.58m.

In Hockey, India defeated South Korea by  1-0  to reach the final of the Asian Games here.

Indian forward Akashdeep Singh  scored a field goal in the 44th minute.

India and Pakistan will face each other in the final of the men's Asian Games tournament.

India stands at the 10 th position on Tuesday.
