Indian skipper Rohit Sharma tests positive for Covid-19

Mumbai/IBNS: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has tested positive for Covid-19, just days before the start of the rearranged Test match against England.

He is currently in isolation and under medical observation.

In a tweet, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wrote: "#TeamIndia Captain Mr Rohit Sharma has tested positive for COVID-19 following a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) conducted on Saturday. He is currently in isolation at the team hotel and is under the care of the BCCI Medical Team."

Rohit Sharma was part of the team taking on Leicestershire in a 4-day tour game ahead of the decisive Test match against England, which will begin on July 1.
