IPL: Delhi Capitals member tests COVID-19 positive

New Delhi: Dark clouds are hovering over Sunday's evening IPL match as a member of Delhi Capitals (DC) camp has been tested positive for Covid-19.

It is not known whether the member has been found positive in rapid antigen or RT PCR test.

According to Cricinfo, all the members of Delhi team had undergone fresh RT PCR tests on Sunday morning and have been asked to remain in their rooms till further information.

It is learnt that the member who has been found positive was sharing the room with another player and both of them have been isolated.

The IPL management has not yet commented on the match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and DC to be held in DY Patil Stadium.

It has also been learnt that the CSK players have not been asked for a fresh Covid-19 test, though they had met Delhi players during the training session on Saturday. However, the news is unlikely to affect both Delhi and IPL.

Prior to this, several members of the DC camp, including Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, were found to be positive for the virus.

Capitals' head coach Ricky Ponting has also went into isolation for five days after a family member tested positive for Covid-19.

Many DC matches were also shifted from Pune to Mumbai.

According to IPL rules, any member who is found positive in the tournament bubble, he has to remain isolated for at least seven days.

The member's RT PCR test report must come negative within 24 hours to re-enter the bubble.
