IPTL: Roger Federer to play for UEA Royals in the second season

Dubai, Sept 11 (IBNS) Roger Federer is all set to play for the UAE Royals in the second season of the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL), the team confirmed through Twitter on Thursday.

“The UAE Royals team is finally unveiled. The maestro @rogerfederer is with us this season. We are determined to win the crown. #IPTL2,” the UAE Royals posted on Twitter.

Co-owner, Indian Test captain Virat Kohli expressed his delight about his new venture. “Excited to be part of the @iptl Season 2! Hoping my team wins the title. Go @UAERoyals #Co-Owner,” Kohli wrote on Twitter.

The IPTL is a franchise based tennis tournament. The Inaugural season consisted of four teams, Philippine Mavericks, UAE Royals, Indian Aces and Singapore Slammers. A fifth team Japan Warriors is expected to join the league in its second year.
