Jammu and Kashmir: FC Safaloo lifts downtown Shahr- e- Khaas cup

Srinagar: The final match of Downtown Shah- re- Khass Football tournament was played Thursday at Eidgah ground between JKB Football Academy and Saffalo FC.

 

The evenly contested match ended with a goalless draw and to determine the winner of the tournament tie-breaker was applied.

It was Saffalo FC who kept their nerve and won the final match by a scoring margin of 5-4 in penalty shootout.

Riyaz Ahmed Goal Keeper of Safaloo was declared man of the match.

He was also adjudged as Best GK of the tournament. Adnan of JKB Academy was awarded the best player of the tournament.

Most energetic player award was given to Faisal Thakur which was sponsored by Valley Sports. Mohammad Yousuf Dar Former International Footballer was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Among other guests Mehrajudin Wadoo, Gh Mohd Bhat, Gh Ahmed Kumar, Zahoor Ah Mir , Ab Hameed were present on the occasion. While delivering the speech at the concluding ceremony Advisor NIFF Ab Hameed Banday and Chairman WC NIFF Bashir

A Malik shared their thoughts and aim behind the organising the tournament.

The idea is to bring back the glory of the sport to downtown and its adjacent areas. Abdul Rashed Wawa a well known footballer and promoter of the game was also honoured for his outstanding contribution in developing the game.

Around 32 teams across the valley participated in the tournament which was organised by Downtown Football Fraternity in collaboration with National and International Footballers Forum NIFF-J&K.
