"Yadav is practising confidently. He is hitting stumps in every single ball. So there is no problem," he said during a press conference.
During the presser here, the 31-year-old cricketer also disclosed that the team India had done team-bonding exercises after the IPL.
"It’s important to have a good and happy atmosphere in the team camp and we have done so much to get reunited after the IPL and also done some team bonding exercises here. This is a long tournament and we will see so many ups and downs where players need to stay united," the skipper said.
Kohli said Kedhar Jadhav, who got injured during the IPL, is fit and hitting the ball well.
He also spoke over the late start for India in the quadrennial tournament.
Talking about what lesson team India have learnt from ICC Champions Trophy's final defeat against Pakistan, he said, "We have plugged the gaps. We brought in wrist spinners to take wickets in the middle overs. We are a stronger side now."
"It was good to get time before the opening match. We have observed our opposition better and it will help us take advantage over South Africa," he said.
India will start their World Cup campaign against South Africa here on Wednesday. On the other hand, this will be South Africa's third match in the tournament.
The Proteas have lost their first two matches.
According to Kohli, South Africa will be tough side though Steyn and Lungi Nagidi will not be part of South African bowling side. He said India will not take them lightly.
