Manipur CM announces Rs 15 lakh each to Mirabai Chanu and Sanjita Chanu

Imphal, Apr 6 (IBNS): After Mirabai Chanu, another Manipuri girl Sanjita Chanu Khumukcham won gold in the Commonwealth Games in weightlifting in the 53kg category.

For the proud moment, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Friday announced Rs 15 lakh each to Mairabai Chanu and Sanjita Chanu.

Congratulating to the Manipuri girls, who clinched two gold medals for the nation in the 2018 Commonwealth Games held in Queensland, Australia in the same event, Manipur CM said he was proud of them for making Manipur proud and India proud.

The Manipur CM announced Rs 15 lakh each to both Manipuri girls from the state government.

Sanjita Chanu lifted a total of 192 kg to win her second Commonwealth Games gold medal.
