Dubai/IBNS: At a time the country is demanding justice for the 19-year old woman who had suffered a fatal gangrape in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras, former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's five-year old daughter Ziva has received a rape threat on social media after the 'Captain Cool' had failed to make a mark in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).

The threats allegedly appeared on the social media profiles of Dhoni and his wife Sakshi, triggering outrage on social media.

Protesting against the threat, former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan tweeted, "All the players giving their best, sometimes it just doesn’t work but it’s doesn’t give any one any authority to give a threat to a young child." (sic)

Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi tweeted, "This has to be the most disgusting example of how social media platforms are being misused. If GoI still turns a blind eye to this then I’d say they are complicit in promoting& condoning such mentality with regards to women&sick, perverse mentality."

The threat came after Dhoni's CSK had failed to win a match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Wednesday.

The CSK skipper was dismissed cheaply for 11 off 12 balls.
