Pakistan opted to bat first after winning the toss against India in a group stage match of the ongoing Champions Trophy in Dubai on Sunday, the second time the two arch-rivals are facing each other in an ICC event in less than a year.

The last time the two squads played in a 50-over clash was in Ahmedabad during the 2023 World Cup.

The two sides last played in the T20 World Cup group stage match in New York last year.

India won both encounters.

India began their Champions Trophy encounter with a victory against Bangladesh last week.

A win against Pakistan in Delhi will take India close to reaching the semi-finals.

Two squads

Indian squad:

Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, KL Rahul (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Harshit Rana, Mohammed Shami, and Kuldeep Yadav

Pakistan squad:

Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan (captain & wk), Salman Agha, Tayyab Tahir, Khushdil Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and Abrar Ahmed
