Pakistan win toss, opt to field against India in high-voltage T20 encounter in New York

Amid fears that rain may halt proceedings, Pakistani skipper Babar Azam won the toss and opted to field first against India in a high-octane T20 World Cup match in New York on Sunday.

Pakistan is coming to this match following a defeat against hosts USA in the previous group stage match.

India, however, victory in their first match against Ireland.

Pakistan and India last played a competitive cricket match during World Cup in 2023.
