Kolkata, Oct 28 (IBNS): Philip Foden's double strike helped England win World Cup Under-17 final clash against their European rivals Spain at packed to the capacity Yuba Bharati Krirangan (Salt Lake Stadium) in Indian city of Kolkata on Saturday night.

Rallying brilliantly with two goals down for forty-three minutes with double strikes from Spain striker Sergio Gomez ( 10th and 31st minute), Steve Cooper's boys held nerve like seasoned steel and bombarded with five goals for remaining time of play of total 90 minutes.

After Rhian dropped headed goal in the 44th minute, England Phil Foden struck home in the 69 th and 88 th minute before Morgan Gibbs White and Marc Guehi netted on 58 and 84 minutes respectively.

Jinx continued to follow Spain in the finals as they yet to win the silver ware despite playing the summit clashes on three more occasions in 1991, 2003 and 2007.

It was Rhian Brewster again to lead the Three Lions to revenge their European championship defeat ( via penalties) early this year in Croatia.

The curly haired striker, who scored two consecutive hat-trick against USA and Brazil in last two games, headed home his 8th goal of the tournament in the 44th minute. Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster, who
won the Adidas Golden Boots award for highest scorer, missed his 9th goal of the tournament, for a marvelous saving from Spain goalkeeper Alvaro Fernandez seconds before water break.

England playing the final for the first time will remember the contribution of two wingers Hudson Odoi and Phil Foden, the duo virtually broke the Spain defense and dismantle tiki-taka football of the famed Spaniards.

England have been brilliant since the group stage matches with all wins and scored 23 goals in seven matches, of them eight contributed by Rhian Brewster.

Earlier in the play for third place two second half goals from Alan Souza and Yuri Alberto earned Brazil a place in the podium wining with 2-0 win over fighting Mali

After the barren first session Brazil broke the deadlock in the 55th minute with a freak goal from Alan as the striker snatched from Mali defender Samake and in hurriedly rolled into net with buttered hands from toll custodian Kuita. The goalkeeper .looked dazed for minutes before one of his mates lifted him on feet to resume play. This was Alan Souza's first international goal.

Three times champions Brazil ensured their third place solidly with another another hit in the 88th minutes from Yuri Alberto. Yuri Alberto's right footed shot pass from Brenner sealed Brazil a bronze in the World Cup under 17 in India.

South American giants Brazil and African outfit Mali fought for 3rd place after they got beaten from England and Spain with identical goal of 1-3 in the semifinal matches respectively. Mali were the runners in
the last edition of 2015.

For England their previous best performance at the tournament was reaching the quarter-finals, while Spain are three-time losing finalists (1991 Ghana, 2003 Brazil and 2007 Nigeria). So India turned out to be a good place for England to play more football in the future and FIFA lauded the country for presenting wonderful record breaking fans in all six venues for 24 teams in last three weeks.

Before the play it was Rhian Brewster versus Spain captain Abel Ruiz, the latter scored six goals so far, But the English boy emerged winner with Golden Boots for top scorer and only the fourth player to have scored two hat trick in a tournament.
