Ahmedabad, Apr 14 (IBNS) Rajashtan Royals captain Steve Smith's brilliant knock of 79 helped his team seal a 7-wicket win over Mumbai Indians in an Indian Premier League match here on Tuesday.

After opener Ajinkya Rahane(46) handed his team a strong start to the run chase, Steve Smith made sure that his team reached the target without any hiccups on the way.

His knock of 79 from 53 balls included 8 fours and 1 six.

Earlier in the match, Mumbai Indians were restricted to a total of 164 as Kieron Pollard (70 off 34) and Corey Anderson(50 off 38) stabilized the innings after the top faltered with captain Rohit Sharma getting out for a duck.

Kieron Pollard hit 7 fours and 5 sixes during his knock of 70 runs.

Aaron Finch was retired hurt very early on in the match as he had to forfeit his innings due to a hamstring injury when he was batting on 10 runs.

Stuart Binny was the pick of the bowlers for Mumbai Indians as he took a wicket by giving away just 8 runs whereas Vinay Kumar did the same by conceding 13 runs for the winning team.
