Rohit Sharma fined for breaching IPL Code of Conduct during KKR clash
Mumbai, Apr 29 (IBNS): Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians batsman and captain, was fined 15 percent of his match fees for breaching the VIVO Indian Premier League's (IPL) Code of Conduct during his team's match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Kolkata.
"Sharma admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.2 of the IPL's Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction," the IPL said in a statement.
Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Mumbai Indians during their clash in Eden Gardens on Sunday.
Hardik Pandya played a stormy 34-ball 91 but could not manage his side reach the winning total.
Earlier, KKR posted 232 runs for the loss of two wickets. Russell, KKR's strongman with the bat, scored unbeaten 80 runs.
In return, Mumbai Indians were restricted at 198 for the loss of seven wickets.
