Rohit Sharma hammers 118 runs, India beat Sri Lanka by 88 runs

Indore, Dec 22 (IBNS): India stand in captain Rohit Sharma hammered charismatic knock of 43-ball 118 runs to help his side beat Sri Lanka by 88 runs in the second T20 match to clinch the series here on Friday.

Rohit was mesmerising in his knock where he smashed 12 boundaries and 10 sixes to unsettle the opponent.

India posted 260 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs and then went to the ground to bowl out Sri Lanka for 172 runs.

Apart from Sharma, KL Rahul added 89 runs with his willow, hammering five boundaries  and eight sixes.

MS Dhoni smashed 28 runs, which helped India post over 250 runs on the scorecard.

Thisara Perera and Nuwan Pradeep picked up two wickets each for Sri Lanka.

Chasing 261 for victory, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 172 runs.

Kusal Perera remained the top scorer for Sri Lanka with his 77 runs knock.

Yuzvendra Chahal too picked four wickets while Kuldeep Yadav added three wickets in the match.
