Rohit Sharma hits century, Ajinkya remains 83 no as India posts 224/3 at stumps against South Africa
Ranchi: Rohit Sharma showed his dominance with the bat in the longest format of the game as he smashed 117 runs to help India post 224 runs for the loss of three wickets in the Indian first innings against South Africa in the ongoing third Test match here on Saturday.
The day's play was ended before the time due to bad light.
Agarwal (12), Virat Kohli (12) and Pujara (0) departed early but Ajinkya Rahane steadied the ship by remaining unbeaten at 83.
This was Rohit's third 100 plus score in the ongoing Test series.
He smashed 14 boundaries and four sixes in his knock.
Ajinkya and Rohit added 85 runs in their partnership.
Sharma and Rahane will resume proceedings on Sunday.
Rabada picked up two wickets for South Africa.
