SAI and Hockey India appoint coaches for India men and women hockey teams
The decision was taken at the Joint Committee Meeting of SAI and Hockey India (HI) held in SAI, on Thursday, on the basis of recent and past performance of Harendra Singh. He is a Level III certified Coach.
Under his coaching, India won the Junior Men World Cup in 2016 in Lucknow.
He was also the Chief Coach of the Senior Men Hockey team from 2008 to 2009 and National coach from 2009 to 2010.
Harendra Singh is expected to take over the new responsibility shortly.
It has also been decided in the meeting that the present Chief Coach of India's Senior Women Hockey Team, Waltherus Norbertus Maria Marijne will take over as Chief Coach of Indian Senior Men Hockey Team on his return from the on-going Europe tour.
Marijne has accepted the offer of Chief Coach of the senior Indian Men's Hockey Team.
Earlier in September, Hockey India removed Coach Roelant Oltmans of Indian Senior Men Hockey Team.
