Simona Halep remains number one female Tennis player in world

Madrid, Oct 23 (IBNS): Romanian tennis player Simona Halep continued to be the number one player in the world as the latest WTA ranking list was released on Monday.

She remained at the top of the chart with 5675 points.

Meanwhile, Kristina Mladenovic of France has joined the top 10 list.

Spaniard Garbiñe Muguruza is currently at the second place in the list.

Czech Karolina Pliskova remained in the third spot in the ranking list.

Ukrainian Elina Svitolina stood on the fourth position.

France's Caroline Garcia and Briton Johanna Konta moved up one position to stand at the  eighth and ninth positions in the rankings list respectively.

The top 10 players of the world are given below:

1. Simona Halep (Romania) 5,675 points

2. Garbiñe Muguruza (Spain) 5,635

3. Karolina Pliskova (Czech Republic) 5,105

4. Elina Svitolina (Ukraine) 5,000

5. Venus Williams (United States) 4,642

6. Caroline Wozniacki (Denmark) 4,640

7. Jelena Ostapenko (Latvia) 4,510

8. Caroline Garcia (France) 3,795

9. Johanna Konta (Britain) 3,610
