Kolkata/IBNS: Sanglaap Basu, U-13 cricketer of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), playing in England against England County teams, has been awarded Emerging player of the tournament as the youngest selected player at the age of 11.

Sanglaap, a resident of Kolkata, has been selected as an all-rounder for the England tour by the Mumbai Cricket Club.

He left for England from Mumbai on June 21.

The 11-year-old played extremely well, being the highest wicket taker and awarded Emerging player of the tournament.

The Indian team played against top school, colleges and County teams in England like Harrow School, Eton College, Bolder Academy (House Cricket Academy), Kent CC, Sanderstead CC, Slough CC, Hampton School and others.

Sanglaap was called for trials by Jwala Singh, who coached India team players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Prithvi Shaw.

Jwala Singh was impressed at Sanglaap's batting and bowling videos and called him for trials at his coaching camp in Mumbai Cricket Club (MCC).

Sanglaap Basu gave a rigorous five-hour trial taken by various coaches of MCC and by Jwala Singh himself, before getting selected for the tour.

It will be a 23-day tour wherein MCC's U-16 and U-19 teams will play against various English Country teams, top England schools and colleges, and also practice at historic Lords stadium.

The team has India U-19 World Cup cricketer and Mumbai Ranji team player, Divyansh Saxena, and other state team players, from various parts of India.

Sanglaap, a student of Kolkata's Don Bosco school, is part of the U-16 team of MCC England tour, the youngest player to get selected at the age of 11.

Last year, he was one of the youngest players to play in the U-13 CAB Ambar roy tournament at the age of 10.

Sanglaap was also called to Mumbai by Rohit Sharma's coach Dinesh Lad, who selected him for coaching.
