COVID-19: Finance Minister announces measures of Rs 73,000 crore to stimulate consumer spending before end of Financial Year

New Delhi: Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman here on Monday announced measures of Rs 73,000 crore to stimulate consumer spending in the economy in an effort to fight the slowdown due to COVID-19 pandemic following lockdown.

New Delhi, Feb 1 (IBNS): For the welfare of Women and Children under various schemes across all Ministries the Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Arun Jaitley in his budget speech on Wednesday said that the allocation has been increased from Rs 1,56,528 crores in BE 2016-17 to Rs 1,84,632 crores in 2017-18.
