India’s seafood exports increase 31% to Rs 61043.68 cr

New Delhi: India’s seafood exports have increased from Rs 46,662.85 crore in 2019-20 to Rs. 61043.68 Crore in 2023-24 registering a growth of 30.81%, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada informed Rajya Sabha on Friday.

India’s seafood export jumps to 17,35,286 MT worth US$ 8.09 billion in FY 2022-23

New Delhi: India achieved an all-time high export of seafood both in terms of volume and value, both in US $ and Rupee terms, by shipping 17,35,286 MT of seafood worth Rs 63,969.14 crore (US$ 8.09 billion) during FY 2022-23 despite several challenges in its major export markets like USA.

Reduce customs duty on chilled & frozen sea food and poultry to 10% & 20% respectively: ASSOCHAM plea

New Delhi, Jan 28 (IBNS): Apex industry body ASSOCHAM has urged the Union Government to reduce customs duty on chilled and frozen sea food from present level of 30 per cent to 10 per cent to bring down food inflation and satiate high demand for sea food in India.
