Enough wheat to feed people; no plan to import: Govt

New Delhi: India has enough wheat to meet the domestic demand, the government has said rejecting a Bloomberg report that claimed that lower production and price rises worsened by a severe heatwave may force it to buy the grain from outside.

India's wheat output to slide by 3 pc to 106.41 million tonnes in 2021-22

New Delhi: India's wheat output is estimated to go down by about 3 percent to 106.41 million tonnes in the 2021-22 crop year (July-June) from the previous year, the agriculture ministry said Thursday.
