UN steps up support to Malawi following deadly cyclone

New York: The UN and partners are ramping up support to Malawi in the wake of Tropical Cyclone Freddy, which killed 190 people this week and injured dozens more, prompting the Government to declare a state of disaster.

Lilongwe/UNI: Tropical Cyclone Freddy has killed at least 66 people, injured 93, and displaced over 2,000 people in Malawi, the country's Red Cross Society (MRCS) said Monday.
