India to give major boost to cyclone warning systems with new radars and supercomputers
New Delhi: India is set to enhance its cyclone forecasting capabilities by investing in new supercomputers, high-resolution radar systems, and automated weather observatories over the next five years, according to the country's chief meteorologist, reported Reuters.
Pune: The AI Supercomputer ‘AIRAWAT’, installed at C-DAC, Maharashtra’s Pune has been ranked 75th in the world in the 61st edition of the 'Top 500 Global Supercomputing List' yesterday at the International Supercomputing Conference (ISC 2023) in Germany, Ministry of Electronics & IT said on Wednesday.
