All 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra along with 38 seats in the second phase of Jharkhand polls went for voting on Wednesday. More than 9.7 crore voters are expected to exercise their franchise to elect 288 members of the highly contested Maharashtra Assembly on Wednesday. In Maharashtra, the incumbent Mahayuti comprising BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) and NCP (Ajit Pawar) are facing a tough challenge from the opposition camp formed by the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray), NCP (Sharad Pawar) and Congress. Jharkhand, where the BJP is aiming to unseat the JMM-Congress, went to polls in the first phase on November 13. The total number of seats in Jharkhand are 82 (81 elected and one nominated).
