India's unemployment rate jumps to five-week high; rural unemployment worsens

New Delhi/IBNS: India's overall employment rate reached a five-week high while the rural unemployment jumped to an eight-week high as the crop sowing season has come to an end and states have imposed micro lockdown in many places to curb Covid-19 spread.

New Delhi/IBNS: National carrier Air India on Thursday informed that it will not lay off any employee during the crisis period caused as a result of coronavirus pandemic and has implemented some  "rationalisation of allowances."
