Jammu and Kashmir: Army foils 'BAT' action in Keran sector, Pak infiltrator killed

Srinagar/UNI: The Army on Sunday said they foiled an infiltration attempt by Pakistan Army's Border Action Team (BAT) when they gunned down a Pakistani intruder who was trying to sneak into the Indian side in Keran sector of Kupwara district.

Srinagar, Aug 3 (IBNS/UNI) In a major development amid the ongoing tension in Kashmir, five to seven Pakistan soldiers and militants were killed as alert Indian troops foiled a major Border Action Team (BAT) attempt of Pakistan to strike forward Indian post along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector in north Kashmir district of Kupwara, a defence ministry spokesperson said on Saturday night.
