Jammu and Kashmir polls: Independents step into political spotlight

Srinagar: With 50 independent candidates emerging as winners in the District Development Council elections in Jammu and Kashmir, political spotlight has set on them.

J&K DDC polls: Voting begins for final phase, 8.93 pc votes polled till 0900 hrs

Jammu, Dec 19 (UNI) Braving cold weather conditions, people on Saturday morning enthusiastically participated in the eighth and final phase of the District Development Council elections recording percentage of 8.93 percent across different constituencies spread over different districts of Jammu and Kashmir till 0900 hrs.

DDC election: 28.71 pc votes polled till 1300 hrs in Kashmir

Srinagar/UNI: Around 28.71 per cent votes were polled till 1300 hrs on Saturday in 25 constituencies during the first phase of District Development Council (DDC) elections amid tight security in Kashmir valley.

  Srinagar: State Election Commission (SEC) Wednesday announced the first ever District Development Council (DDC) polls in Jammu and Kashmir to be held in eight phases from November 28 to December 22.

CPI urges ECI to conduct assembly polls in J&K
