Supreme Court to hear RG Kar rape and murder case today amid massive protests in Kolkata
The Supreme Court will hear the case related to the brutal rape and murder of the female doctor in Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on Monday.
Thousands of people from different walks of life, including doctors, students, rickshaw pullers and artisans, shouted slogans demanding justice for the RG Kar rape and murder victim with Kolkata witnessing multiple rallies across various points in the city on Sunday.
Kolkata/IBNS: "Goddess Durga is arriving in 35 days while we lost our daughter 25 days ago," reads a banner at the base of the iconic Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's statue at Kolkata's Shyambazar five-point crossing summing up the angry and defiant mood in the city known for its festive countdown to the annual homecoming of Goddess Durga.
Kolkata/IBNS: After the historic 'Reclaim the Night' protest on August 14, Kolkata and its neighbouring districts are on Wednesday set to witness a similar event demanding justice for the 31-year-old trainee doctor, who was raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital last month.
