New Delhi/UNI: Delhi Police special cell has apprehended a member of the banned outfit Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), who is said to be one of the illusive members of the organisation for the past 19 years, the police said on Sunday.
Eight cadres of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) fled from the Bhopal Central Jail in Madhya Pradesh (MP) at around 2 to 3am in the morning of October 31, 2016, after killing a security guard, Head Constable Ramashankar, by slitting his throat with steel plate and glass after overpowering him. The escapees were identified as Mohammad Aqeel Khilji aka Abdullah, Sheikh Mehboob akaGuddu aka Malik, Amazad Khan aka Pappu aka Daud aka Umer, Zakir Hussain Sadiq aka Vicky Don aka Vinay Kumar, Mohammad Salik aka Sallu, Mohammad Khalid Ahmad, Mujeeb Sheikh aka Akram aka Wasim aka Nawed aka Nitin akaFaizan aka Chintoo aka Yusuf, and Abdul Majid.

SIMI terrorists gunned down in encounter following jail-break
Bhopal, Oct 31 (IBNS): Madhya Pradesh police gunned down the eight SIMI (Student Islamic Movement of India) terrorists, who escaped from prison barely eight hours after their escape, reports said.
Research Fellow, Institute for Conflict Management Two cadres of the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) were killed in an encounter with the Police near Janakipuram in Nalgonda District of the newly constituted Telangana State, on April 4, 2015. One Police Constable was killed while another Policeman was injured during the encounter. Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Sharma in an April 5 release, stated that the slain duo were identified as Mohammed Aijazuddeen, a native of Kareli in the Narsinghpur District of Madhya Pradesh (MP) and Mohammed Aslam alias Bilal, who hailed from Ganesh Talai in the Khandwa District of MP. Sharma added, "Aijajuddeen and Aslam have been the active members of Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) in Madhya Pradesh and were involved in acts of terror in India."
