Statue vandalisation: Mamata Banerjee unveils new bust of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar

Kolkata, June 11 (IBNS): Less than a month since the statue was vandalised, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday unveiled the new bust of 19th century Bengali reformer Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar at Vidyasagar College in north Kolkata.

Left takes out protest march against vandalisation of Vidyasagar's statue, blames Trinamool-BJP

Kolkata, May 15 (IBNS): To mark protest against the vandalisation of Bengali's iconic social reformer Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar's bust, the Left party on Wednesday morning took out a protest march in north Kolkata and blamed both the ruling Trinamool Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the incident.
