March to Nabanna: Protesters, police fight pitched battles in Kolkata over RG Kar rape-murder

Students under the banner 'Chhatra Samaj' as well as groups of other people fought pitched battles in Kolkata across routes to West Bengal state secretariat Nabanna in Howrah on Tuesday afternoon protesting against the rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Amid a CBI probe, the protesters demanded Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's resignation over the incident.(Images by Avishek Mitra/IBNS)
