Jaitley visits Uri sector in Kashmir

Defence Minister Arun Jaitley, who was on his two day visit to Kashmir valley from 14 to 15 Jun 14, visited the forward post on the Line of Control in Uri sector of North Kashmir Sunday. He was accompanied by General Bikram Singh, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen DS Hooda, Northern Army Commander, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, Chinar Corps Commander and other senior officials of Army and Ministry of Defence (MoD). Jaitley was briefed about the trends in infiltration of the terrorists and the Counter Infiltration grid established by Army along the Line of Control. He also interacted with the troops deployed on the Line of Control where earlier there were firing from the Pakistan side. Back in Srinagar, Jaitley attended the Special Security Review meeting held at Sher-e- Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), attended by the Chief Minister, the Chief of Army Staff, the Northern Army Commander, the Chinar Corps Commander and other official of state and civil administration.
