Naseeruddin Shah, MK Raina pay tribute to theatre legend Habib Tanvir on 100th birth anniversary in Kolkata

‘Dekh Rahe Hain Nayan’, a three-day theatre festival at the Kolkata Centre for Creativity (KCC), began on Aug 30 to celebrate the works of theatre legend Habib Tanvir. From theatre and movie stalwarts like Naseeruddin Shah to thespian MK Raina, actors Raghubir Yadav, Ratna Pathak Shah and filmmaker Sudhir Mishra along with writer-editor Anjum Katyal, who is on research and documentation, paid tribute to Tanvir on the inaugural day. The festival is an ode to  one of the most influential playwrights and poets of post-independent India on his 100th birth anniversary. Tanvir's oeuvre at KCC is designed to include a diverse range of events, ranging from exhibition, masterclasses, panel discussions, film screenings and dramatic readings to dastangoi, musical and theatrical performances.
