The India Story kicks off at Swabhumi with glamour

The Indian Story (TIS), which is an initiative to showcase the best of India's art and culture at the Swabhumi heritage park in Kolkata, finally kicked off on the October 29, 2015 evening with a specially curated show “The Calico Chapter”, followed by the beautiful Weaves Show by Sanjay Garg of Raw Mango. Then the preview to the exposition opened up to a few select audiences, for them to explore and shop till midnight. Swabhumi as the hosting site will be housing this unique design experience with over 80 participants from all across the country. The show has been put together by industrialist Harsh Neotia's wife Madhu Neotia, restaurateur and food writer Abhilasha Sethia, scenographer Swarup Dutta and designer Nil. On the opening day, the show was glammed up by actresses like Riya Sen, Swastika Mukherjee and actress-turned-parliamentarian Moonmoon Sen. Images by Avishek Mitra/IBNS
