Marxist icon Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee dies at age 80

Kolkata/IBNS: The body of former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, who passed away at the age of 80 on Thursday (Aug 8, 2024), was taken to Peace World mortuary as his tearful wife Meera Bhattacharjee and son Suchetan accompanied the hearse. He will be kept at CPI-M party headquarters at Alimuddin Street from 10:30 am on Friday for common people to pay their last respect. Last journey of Indian filmmaking legend Mrinal Sen

Legendary Indian filmmaker Mrinal Sen passed away in Kolkata on Sunday (Dec 30, 2018). He was 95. Glimpses of his last journey from his house in south Kolkata's Padmapukur Beltala region to Peace World mortuary in Topsia before his cremation after the arrival of his son Kunal from USA. He had wished not to be taken to film complex and cultural hub Nandan in Kolkata.
