The Federal Court of Canada has rebuked the Justin Trudeau government over the use of emergency powers to suppress the "freedom convoy" protests in 2022 and called it "unjustified and disproportionate".

Ottawa/IBNS: As the federal government is actively discussing further measures to limit travel owing to the rise in COVID-19 cases, Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister Marc Garneau said that he hopes that the federal government would consider invoking the Emergencies Act to limit travel.
