UN aviation agency directs Pakistan not to issue new pilot licences

Islamabad/UNI: The Pakistani government has been told by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) that it should immediately stop the issuance of new pilot licenses in the country in the wake of an alleged scandal involving people procuring falsified commercial licences to fly.

Islamabad/UNI: The Pakistani government has said that the inquiry into the issuance of ‘illegal’ licences to about 236 pilots is currently in progress and that the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) would complete the scrutiny of suspected pilots and verification of the credentials of other aviation staff in the coming days.
