Dhaka/IBNS: Bangladeshi President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Monday ordered the release of jailed former Prime Minister and key opposition leader Khaleda Zia, hours after her arch-rival Sheikh Hasina was forced to flee the country amid spiralling protests and transfer of power to the army.

 Dhaka, Aug 7 (IBNS): Instead of prosecuting those responsible for unlawfully attacking student protesters demanding road safety, Bangladesh authorities are arresting students and targeting activists and journalists who are highlighting the abuses, Human Rights Watch said on Tuesday.
