Canada proposes a cap-and-trade system to cut carbon emissions 40-45 pct by 2030
Ottawa/IBNS: Canada is aiming to cut emissions across all sectors by 40 to 45 per cent from 2005 levels by 2030 by using use an industry-specific cap-and-trade system or a modified carbon pricing system to set a ceiling for emissions from the oil and gas sector.
Toronto/IBNS: With a target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent below 2005 levels by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, the Ontario Liberals Tuesday promised a string of measures to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
