Kohima: Nagaland will re-open for domestic tourists from Dec 27 after a prolong ban due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Nagaland state Tourism department on Dec 22 has issued a notification stating that the re-opening of tourism in the state in the first phase will be only for domestic tourists from Dec 27 and there will be only one entry point from Dimapur by road, rail and air.

The decision was taken by the high powered committee in the meeting held on Dec 18.

The state government’s notification stated that any tourist who wishes to visit Nagaland will be required to obtain Inner Line Permit (ILP) for tourist.

“In the first phase, the ILP for tourist will be available only in the online mode through the portal www.ilp.nagaland.gov.in. Every tourist will be expected to possess a negative report of COVID-19 test done not earlier than three days prior to arrival in Nagaland through RT-PCR, TrueNat, CBNAAT. The RAT negative test of COVID-19 will not be considered adequate for entry into the state,” said in the notification.

The notification also said that the tourist travel/visits in Nagaland will be permitted only for pre-booked/package tours.

The state government has also issued Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for all tourists visiting in the state and directed all tourists to carry the soft/hard copy of the negative test report of COVID-19 and produce it whenever asked by the competent authority.

“The tourists will have to follow the health and safety protocols and guidelines issued by the state government and health department during their visit to the state,” said in the notification.
