Private carrier IndiGo has announced the introduction of new direct flights between the Indian city of Hyderabad and Sri Lankan capital Colombo from November 2, 2023.

IndiGo said it is the first Indian carrier to provide direct connectivity between the two cities.

Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, said, “This would serve as a catalyst for further enhancing business ties, trade as well as tourism between India and Sri Lanka."

"The introduction of these flights will not only enhance connectivity but also provide travellers with greater flexibility and convenience," he said.

"We will continue to offer more flight options, adhering to our promise of on-time, affordable, courteous, and hassle-free travel experiences across our unparalleled network," he said.
