Travel to Mount Abu:

On my parents' wedding anniversary we decided to go for a family trip. After searching and planning for days, we decided to go to Mount Abu and get some respite from the heat of Jaipur. As the temperature inside the city can soar, it's best to always avail AC car rentals in Jaipur. My father was apprehensive about the reliability and safety so we read the reviews then decide on booking the cab.

Overview and daily activities:

We started in the night as the journey was long and we wanted to see the morning views of Mount Abu. We took Ajmer road from Jaipur via NH40 going through Ajmer, Sirohi and then Abu road. As we always avail AC vehicles in Jaipur, we slept comfortably during the night journey. We reached Abu early morning as the sun was rising. The sunrise looked amazing from the hills. Mount Abu is aptly called ‘the paradise of Rajasthan’. The cool and pleasant weather made it the ideal holiday place for summers. We checked into our hotel and freshened up and had our breakfast. Then we proceeded to see the famous Dilwara temples.

The white marble architecture is one of the finest when it comes to Jain temples and their architectural designs. The divine ambience of the temple along with the surrounding green hills was quite soothing and did well to relax us after our tiring journey. From there we went to Guru Shikhar which is the highest peak in the Aravalli range. We could see a wide view of the hills and valleys from there and were successful in capturing quite a few panoramic images on our cameras. Guru Shikhar has many temples as well which we decided to visit later in the day. We had our lunch there and then proceeded to Nakki Lake. On the side of the lake was the Toad rock. We climbed the stairs to reach the top of the rock to see the views from the top. The next day was spent in seeing the Raghunath temple, Maharaja Jaipur Palace, Achalgarh Fort and the Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary.

The Wildlife sanctuary had an amazing lake and one could take a short hike on the hills.  Then in the evening, we went back to Nakki lake before we bid adieu to Mount Abu. As we started our return journey back to Jaipur in the night we were glad that we had the foresight to book with a taxi service in Jaipur that is licensed and affordable.
