A Luxury B2B Mice Networking Event was held in Istanbul with the participation of key decision makers in global tourism, on April 6-7.

Recognized for its efforts to make tourism safe with the Safe Tourism Certification Program during the pandemic, Turkey continues to help its tourism industry effectively reach its goals through organizing B2B events with the participation of global key decision-makers.

The workshop, organized with this goal, hosted prominent tourism professionals, including Riaz Munshi, President of Outbound Tour Operators Association of India; Terry Dale, President of the United States Tour Operators Association; Bob Duglin, Vice-President of the American Society of Travel Advisors; Thomas Klein, Treasurer of the Wellness Tourism Association, and Erik Wolf, Executive Director of the World Food Travel Association.

Leading tour operators were also invited to the workshop, which provided a perfect environment for establishing B2B partnerships, gave the participants an opportunity to visit and promote Turkey's most popular destinations, and helped the industry during the pandemic by offering a platform to build business partnerships with immediate mutual benefits.

Riaz Munshi stated, “Turkey is truly the perfect destination for all segments of Indian travellers, be it families, honeymooners, mice groups or for weddings. Turkey is also one of the first countries to launch the 'Safe Tourism Certification Programme' which is already a step in the right direction to build consumer confidence."

"Positioning the destination as one that promises travel safety, upfront puts Turkey in a good position to attract more travellers and I am certain that it is set to grow by leaps from from the Indian market. Turkey is open and well-equipped to welcome travellers now. With vaccine drives picking up and the world moving towards normalcy, we look forward to hosting OTOAI’s next convention in Turkey.”
