New Delhi, April 29 (ANI): Afghanistan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani hinted that his government might be open to talks with the Taliban. Ghani was talking to reporters at President House after his political engagements. Asked about the status of talks with Taliban, the visiting President indicated that there might be a role for Taliban in Afghan policy under the country's constitutional framework. Ghani said that he did not want to become a "war president", but added he had the responsibility towards the nation as well. Ghani also said that there was a need to engage with everybody to bring peace in the war-ravaged nation. Ghani's India visit was postponed amid heavy fighting between Afghan security forces and Taliban insurgents that killed scores of combatants and threatened a major northern city in Afghanistan on Monday (April 27).
