Former Indian captain Bishen Singh Bedi termed the ball-tampering scandal involving top Australian cricketers ‘one of modern day cricket’s great tragedies’ and held the players resposnsible for plunging the sport into crisis. Steve Smith has been handed a one-match suspension and fined 100% of his match fee by ICC on Sunday while opener Cameron Bancroft has been fined 75% of his match fee and handed three demerit points for breaching Level 2 of the ICC Code of Conduct.
