Reports suggested that people were seen to be vomiting after the Iftaar meal, to break the Ramadan fast.
The incident occurred between Mosul and Irbil, where a camp houses displaced people by an Iraqi offensive to capture Mosul from the grip of Islamic State (IS).
The food was brought from a restaurant from Irbil which contained beans, chicken and yogurt.
The restaurant owner was arrested.
Affected people of the camp have been treated in three nearby hospitals.
The UN Refugee Agency UNHCR, said in a statement that around 200 people have been taken to hospital out of 800 cases being registered.
Iraqi forces along with US-led coalition, launched an offensive in order to capture Mosul from the grip of Islamic State (IS), last October.
The camp which was built by the UNHCR, one of 13, houses more than 6000 people.
